Police got new authority in Sittingbourne, Kent, due to recent reports of antisocial youth behaviour. This is a dispersal order.

This enforcement began Tuesday at 7:30 PM and it lasts until next Thursday at 7:30 PM, February 20th, 2025. The order covers Sittingbourne town center, including streets like A2 and also West Street.
It also affects retail areas like Eurolink Way. The dispersal order lets police tell troublemakers to leave. The problematic area includes Albany Park too. People causing trouble can be asked to go away.
Police can arrest people who refuse to leave the area. They also arrest those who come back afterwards.
Inspector Bassindale stated officers got reports describing antisocial behavior and disorder. A few young people were involved with these incidents. Police patrol the town center often. They’ll make anyone causing problems leave, warning that returning risks arrest.
Police also work with schools and youth groups to address the issue. Additionally, police will talk to parents about kids causing trouble and will issue warnings when sensible.
