Major Plymouth road shuts for eight weeks starting Feb 10 for regeneration. Pedestrians will have safe access.

Coaches entering the station will not be impacted. People walking will have a safe, fenced path protecting them from construction. Work is happening on both sides of the street now.
Contractors must install new deep drainage and will add utility ducting under the street. This includes the rill’s pipeline extension, and they also need to resurface the raised street table. Granite setts will be used for the road. Rain gardens get prepped too.
Bus companies know about the changes and worked with the city council. Buses from the west go via North Cross, using Western Approach and Union Street. Buses from the north and east reroute too, utilizing Cobourg Street and Western Approach.
The council says the project progresses well, on time and within budget. They want to finish quickly, stating that any temporary issue is worth it. This project aims to help the city center.
The goal is a nice city center for visitors and families to enjoy. The new space should excite people and bring life back to Plymouth. This investment will also create new homes so people will want to live downtown.
Deliveries should not be affected much, and access to rear yards stays open. The Armada Centre is still accessible, and the Copthorne Hotel has special parking plans to help their underground car park.
Mayflower Street East car parks stay open. The Beryl bikes get a new temporary spot on Mayflower Street. A new permanent hub is planned later, and it will sit by Mayflower House.
Shelters will have signs about buses, and the taxi rank will move nearby. It shifts 50 meters down Mayflower Street, and this new rank is near Koishii restaurant. Signs will guide people easily.
