A Plymouth man, 47, was jailed six years for child sex crimes after his victim bravely testified.

Peter Lamble, 47, is from Plymouth. The court sentenced him today, finding him guilty of sex crimes with a child between 13 and 15.
The jury found Lamble not guilty on four other charges. They could not agree on three more charges, and prosecutors won’t retry those.
The court learned Lamble abused her in Plymouth and Cornwall. Later, the victim confronted Lamble. He apologized and said he felt confused.
The abuse deeply hurt the victim. She bravely reported it in 2020, prompting police to start a full investigation. Lamble denied any wrongdoing during questioning.
Judge Neil Davey KC gave Lamble six years in jail. He must register as a sex offender for life.
Detective Alicia Pointon led the investigation. She said the victim showed courage by reporting the abuse and staying involved. Pointon added that Lamble never admitted the truth and forced the victim to testify. Her bravery led to his sentencing and that it is never too late to report abuse; police will always investigate reports.
