Aiden Cashley shot a BB gun into a crowd in Launceston. He injured one man and was stopped by have a go heroes.

The incident followed an argument with some unknown people during a night out. Cashley told them he needed to grab something before returning around 11 PM. He then produced the hidden gun and fired it repeatedly.
One man was seriously injured, with BBs hitting his arm multiple times, requiring surgery. Cashley fled the scene but was stopped by people nearby until police arrived. The police arrested him and seized the gun.
He was charged with possessing a fake gun with intent to cause fear and inflicting actual harm. He pleaded guilty to these offenses. This past Tuesday, a judge sentenced him to three years in jail, and the court ordered the destruction of the weapon.
