The historic Pizza Express building in Cathedral Square, Peterborough needs repairs to its roof, chimneys, and stonework.

The Pizza Express building needs some fixing up. It’s in Cathedral Square, you know? The building is really old; it was built in the early 1900s. It became a Grade II listed building in 1973.
Pizza Express wants to fix the building and has sent plans to the city council. The plans include fixing the roofs, chimneys, and rainwater parts. Cleaning the stone is part of the plan, too.
They’re going to fix the wooden and metal parts, and everything will get a new coat of paint. The company says repairs will help the building a lot and protect its history.
The building has five statues in front. These statues show famous people from history, including a bishop and several important rulers. Pizza Express has been there over ten years.
Peter Boizot started Pizza Express back in 1965 and even lived in Peterborough. He was a businessman and a local politician. People called him “Mr. Peterborough,” and he put a lot back into the city.
