Police seek to identify remains found off Peterhead using facial reconstruction. The skull belonged to a woman under 50.

A fishing boat discovered the skull on May 15, 2024, approximately 150 miles from Peterhead in the North Sea. Police received the call around 1:40 p.m.
Forensic analysis confirmed the skull belonged to a woman under 50 years old. Detectives are treating her death as unexplained and are continuing their investigation.
In collaboration with Dundee University, specialists performed a facial reconstruction. Officers are hopeful that someone will recognize the woman’s face.
Detective Sergeant Emma Wright emphasized the importance of identifying the woman and determining the circumstances surrounding her death. She believes sharing the reconstruction could be the key to reuniting her with her family.
