A new BBC documentary, “The Hunt for Peter Tobin,” features families of victims discussing the serial killer’s crimes.

The program follows three investigations. Young women vanished in each case. The cases revealed a serial killer who targeted young women for decades. The crimes happened across the UK.
Tobin was convicted of murder. His victims were Angelika Kluk, Vicky Hamilton, and Dinah McNicol. The murders happened between 2006 and 2007. Angelika was 23, Vicky was 15, and Dinah was 18.
Tobin was a sex offender, and people suspect he killed others. He died in jail in 2022 after falling in his cell at HMP Edinburgh. An inquiry into his death occurred and found Tobin had pneumonia. He also suffered from cancer and vascular disease.
Vicky Hamilton disappeared in 1991. She waited for a bus on a snowy night. Her case became a large missing persons case. Dinah McNicol vanished in the summer. She hitchhiked after a music festival.
Angelika Kluk went missing in 2006 in Glasgow. They found her remains under a church floor. This happened 15 years after Dinah’s disappearance.
The Hunt for Peter Tobin is part of a series, following other true crime shows like The Hunt for Bible John and The Hunt for the World’s End Killers. This show looks at disappearances’ impact on families. You’ll see interviews with family, police, scientists, and reporters.
The BBC says the series is powerful. It examines police investigations and also focuses on the human stories. The combination makes it compelling to watch. The show will air on BBC Scotland and BBC iPlayer in March 2025.
