Brave passersby and quick police action ensured a distressed woman’s safety near the A21 in Tunbridge Wells.

Neil Loudon praised Sophie and Sarah’s caring act. He said they stayed calm and supportive of her. He also thanked the officers for their quick actions. The officers prevented a tragedy from happening.
Chief Supt Loudon gave out 52 awards in total. Dr. Gillian Fargher, the Kent High Sheriff, attended. Katie Lam, a Member of Parliament, was also there. The ceremony was at the Kent Police College. Officers found other possible victims, getting solid evidence. The suspect was held accountable, protecting others. Andrew Bloomfield got over four years in jail in November 2024. He had stalked two victims.
DC Andy Julier and DC Celia King led another case. It was a complex investigation. They secured evidence against Cameron Jeffrey. Enquiries lasted over 24 hours. Jeffrey robbed places in Staplehurst, Cranbrook and Hawkhurst, using a knife. He was jailed in December 2024 for five years.
PCs Gareth Salter and Butler showed bravery facing burglars at a supermarket back in November 2024. The burglars had crowbars in New Ash Green. PC Scott Morgan dealt with another incident which happened on July 21, 2024 in Tunbridge Wells. A man held a victim hostage with a knife at Upper Grosvenor Road.
Officers entered the place successfully. They disarmed the suspect and arrested him at once. The victim was unharmed. PC Daniel Carroll handled a complex crime scene, an attempted murder in Maidstone linked to a house party. He quickly found and arrested a suspect at speed. Over 70 people were there.
Frontline officers need to show bravery, selflessness, and high professionalism. Chief Supt Loudon thinks officers show these qualities daily. He said it’s vital to commend their dedication. He admires their bravery. He knows the public supports police officers and staff a lot.
Community teams and PCSOs handle antisocial behavior. They get concerns, and they respond. Chief Supt Loudon told of Maidstone successes. Beat officers worked with the borough council. They reduced crime in the town centre a great deal, and cut reports of antisocial behavior too.
PCSO Sarah Stanley was praised for her hard work. She aided young people in Tunbridge Wells a great deal. Chief Supt Loudon noted her creative work, highlighting potential dangers to children daily. She connects well with young people and supports them. She works with partners to cut crime and also lowers the risk to others greatly.
