The pool is closed with immediate effect and sessions cancelled due to pool plant issues.
The big pool at Park Road Lifestyles is closed now. They posted a service update online, stating there are some “pool plant issues,” meaning something is wrong with the pool’s equipment.
The pool closed on Monday and they don’t know when it will reopen. They called it “closed until further notice.” Park Road Lifestyles has two pools, though. Only the large pool is currently shut down.
The small pool stays open, which is good news for young kids and families. Some swim sessions were planned today, including adult swims and a women’s session. They have canceled the ones in the big pool.
Family swim times are still happening. The small pool is still open during half term. Members can just show up to the pool without needing to book in advance.
Someone from the city council spoke about the pool, saying it was due to a heating problem. The council wants to fix it fast, and also mentioned the other pool is still open.
Last summer, some groups wanted to manage the center. In November, the council discussed changes and they might give Park Road Lifestyles to someone else, as the council cannot afford all the leisure centers.
