A man armed with knives was fatally shot by police near Paris after reportedly charging at them.

A source said the man sat at a bus stop holding a knife in each hand. When cops arrived, he ran toward them without saying a word.
An officer first used a stun gun, but it failed to stop the man. Then, another officer shot him in the chest. Medics tried to save his life, but declared him dead soon after.
Two groups, the security service and police inspectorate, began an investigation right away. This happened after a knife attack last weekend that killed one and hurt four cops at a market.
The attacker in that event was Algerian, age 37. He shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack, which means “God is the greatest.” It happened in Mulhouse on Saturday, and President Macron called it an “Islamist terrorist attack.”
Macron showed support for victims and families. Other officers arrested the attacker and charged him with terrorist murder, adding that he was unharmed in the attack.
France has seen many terror attacks claimed by groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda. In 2015, 130 people died in Paris, marking the deadliest attack ever there.
In 2015, men attacked the Charlie Hebdo magazine, killing seventeen inside and three outside. In 2016, a truck drove into a crowd in Nice, which killed eighty-six and hurt over four hundred. Also in 2016, terrorists killed a priest in Normandy.
In 2020, a man stabbed three people in Nice, and knife attacks keep targeting police. Terrorists also targeted teachers in Paris, one example being Samuel Paty, who was killed in 2020.
