A child suffered greatly at home, the court heard. The parents made the child face the wall for hours, in their bedroom. The child had zero toys to play with, and boredom drove the child to pull out hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.

The parents knew the child feared darkness. Still, they kept the bedroom dark at night, with no lightbulb in the room. Mould covered the walls in the bedroom, and clothes stayed under the bed, not in a dresser.

The city council rescued the suffering child, who now resides in foster care and is reportedly doing better. The prosecutor shared details in court, stating the child ate all meals on the floor beside the wall.

The child spent most weekends by the door and after school, stood facing a wall and. Even during meals, they faced the bare wall. The judge sentenced the parents for child cruelty, giving them suspended sentences.

Sentences included unpaid work and rehabilitation activities. The judge said cruelty forced the child to stand. Both parents confessed it was too much, making a frightened child sleep in darkness. The judge believed they were inadequate and did not know how to cope.
