A 74 year old man died after being hit by a car on Neilston Road in Paisley on Saturday evening.

Emergency services arrived around 8 PM on Saturday, February 8. The man was 74 years old and died at the scene. Police have told his family about the incident.
Neilston Road closed for about five hours near the intersections of Rowan, Alice, Stock, and Great Hamilton streets, as well as Barterholm Road. It was closed for investigation.
The car’s driver was a 36-year-old man who wasn’t hurt. Police arrested him on suspicion of a traffic violation.
The police are still investigating and are asking for help from the public. Sergeant Jack Swindells shared his condolences and asks people to come forward with any information about the crash.
