Someone damaged a child’s grave in Leeds. They pulled the gravestone out of the ground. It happened at Saint James’ Cemetery, which is on Hallfield Lane in Wetherby.

Wetherby Town Council spoke about the incident, calling the vandalism awful and heartbreaking. It happened on Wednesday, February 19th at the child’s grave in Hallfield Lane Cemetery.

They said the headstone was uprooted on purpose, showing no respect. The council finds it very upsetting and wants people to watch out and help protect the cemetery. The town council aims to fix the grave quickly.

People in the area are angry and commented on the council’s social media post, finding the act to be despicable. Sarah Normington, whose daughter is also buried there, was very upset and can’t believe someone would do this.

Lyn Stevens called it disrespectful and thinks it shows what times are like. Sandra Newlove thinks the people are scum, saying Wetherby used to be trouble-free. Jean Ward Ex Gamble said it was disgusting and wonders how the vandals would feel if it happened to their family.
