CCTV footage shows thieves stealing Team Ireland cyclist Kelly Murphy’s valuable bike from her shed in Birmingham.

The robbery happened on February 4. CCTV caught the thieves in action. They also stole her housemate’s, Dan Cave’s, bike. Dan shared the footage with BirminghamLive.
The shed was attached to their house in Stirchley. Police confirmed they are checking into it.
Dan said Kelly’s bike was for time trials. She won championships using it. She even competed in the Paris Olympics with it. It’s not just valuable, it means a lot.
Dan’s bike got stolen too. He uses it daily for work as a reporter. He said cycling helps him get around Birmingham. His bike is robust and worth about a grand.
He now uses Ubers and has extra costs. Kelly discovered the break-in that morning. The garage door was destroyed. That’s when they reviewed the CCTV footage.
Police are investigating the Stirchley theft. They have CCTV to help find the thieves. They will speak with the victim more. If you know anything, call the police. Use Live Chat or call 101, and quote log 1738 of 4/2/25.
