Heysham’s Half Moon Bay is closed after a large oil spill. Authorities investigate the purple and blue contamination.

Lots of groups are checking things out. Cops and the city council are involved. They’re trying to figure out what happened now. Pictures online show the beach. It looks purple and blue from the spill.
They don’t know the cause or damage yet. It’s a popular time to visit, so they sent a warning. Many folks are at the shore this half term break now.
Police posted a message on Facebook. They said the council is working on the spill. They asked for people to steer clear of the area at the beach. The message stressed avoiding the oil or tar.
Don’t touch anything on the beach or in the water. The city council also put up a notice. It warns everyone about pollution at the beach. Authorities are investigating what happened there.
They suggest staying away from the beach for now. More oil might still be there. Again, avoid contact with any visible oil or tar. See new contamination around the beach? Call the Lancaster City Council. The number to call is 01524 582000.
