Notts TV will cease broadcasting as Nottingham Trent University won’t renew the license. Chairman proud of decade.

That announcement came on February 17th. The university mostly funds the channel, and the license expires in November of this year. NTU hopes others will continue local broadcasting.
Mike Sassi is the interim chairman of Notts TV and the former editor of the Nottingham Post. He said they are proud of the last ten years.
The channel produced over 2,500 live news shows and featured many local Nottinghamshire stories. Over 5,000 guests visited the studio, and reporters won national awards for their journalism. The channel helped launch careers in media too.
They want to do their best in the coming months, and Notts TV thanks everyone for their support. The channel first got its license in 2014. About 30 other local channels got licenses then too.
Notts TV recently celebrated its ten-year anniversary. Vicky McClure was among the special event guests.
