The Hole in the Wall pub in Nottingham will reopen soon. It is near Nottingham Trent University and closed last October after the previous owners left to protect their health, citing unsustainable bills.

Admiral Taverns owns the pub and have found someone new to run it. They have invested a lot to improve it and want it to be central to the community.

They are working to reopen quickly. Workers were seen at the pub on February 21, and new blue paint replaced boarded-up signs. The pub belonged to Nottingham Gay Quarter, a group of safe spaces. It hosted drag nights, karaoke, and Pride events.

The pub aims to have regular cask ales, sports teams, and live sports. Varied entertainment will be a focus.

The pub was boarded up for months. A local worker thinks location hurt it and admitted she never visited in six years but thinks a different business could succeed. Students shared their views.

One student used to go there and called it a welcoming pub, expressing excitement for its future. Another student worked there, found the atmosphere friendly, and is also excited for its reopening.
