Road closures hit Nottingham for the 10k run this Sunday starting in Old Market Square and finishing at Nottingham Castle.
The run starts in Old Market Square and goes toward Nottingham Castle. This is the first event there. The route goes north to Forest Rec; then, runners head back south, and the route also goes near the canal.
Runners loop around the Park Estate area, which is known for its Victorian style. They finish inside Nottingham Castle. Road closures will be from 5 AM to 1 PM, and parking will also be affected.
Many roads will be closed that day, including Huntingdon Street and Castle Boulevard. Also closed are Parliament Street and London Road. Woodborough Road and Canal Street will be affected, too, as will many other streets such as Lenton Road and Mansfield Road.
All roads will reopen quickly once it is completely safe to do so. This keeps runners and viewers safe.
The run wants to raise money for charity. Charities include Framework and Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance. The Run For All company organizes the event.
