Relive memories of iconic Sayers bakeries in Liverpool through photographs from Mirrorpix and ECHO archives.

Fred and Lylian Sayer started it, selling baked goods in 1912 from their basement kitchen on Prescot Road in Old Swan. In 1922, they moved to County Road as demand grew quickly. In 1925, Sayers moved to a bigger bakery on Aintree Road in Bootle.
Sayers expanded again in the 1930s, building a bakery on Lorenzo Drive in Norris Green, though it closed in the 2000s after problems. The Sayer family ran the business until 1977.
United Biscuits bought it then, followed by Warburtons in 1990. Warburtons sold its bakeries in 1996, and Lyndale Foods bought them, then Annes Shops in 1997.
Many people in the region enjoyed Sayers, which sold cakes, sandwiches, soups, and other baked items. We found old photos of Sayers that show bakeries and workers.
The photos came from archives and were taken by Mirrorpix and ECHO photographers. Here are 17 photos to bring back memories.
