Two people were hospitalized after a crash Tuesday near Blagdon Estate, closing roads and causing rush hour traffic issues.

Old Great North Road closed near the estate. Blagdon Lane toward Northumberlandia also closed. This made traffic worse during rush hour as people wanted to get onto the A1 northbound.
Three people got hurt in the accident. Two went to the hospital in Cramlington, while medics treated the other person at the scene before they went home.
Firefighters came to the crash site too. They secured the cars and then left. Police reopened both roads around 6 PM.
The ambulance service received a call at 4:28 PM, reporting a crash on Shotton Lane. They sent many emergency workers to the scene.
These workers included ambulance crews and paramedics. A clinical team leader and the Hazardous Area Response Team also came. Two people went to the hospital. Police officers also went to the car crash.
