Richard Stannard House in Blyth will transform into sixteen apartments for clean energy workers after council approval.

The building needs serious upgrades. Demand for such space is low. The conversion will cost £3.4 million. It will create sixteen nice apartments for clean energy workers.
Councilor Colin Horncastle spoke at the meeting. He said Blyth is getting massive investment, and qualified workers will come to the area. These apartments are needed now and will help local shops a lot.
The council got £20.7 million for the project from the Levelling Up Deep Dive program. Advance Northumberland owns the site now. They will also manage the building project.
Councilor Richard Wearmouth talked about business changes. He said demand for places like that went down, so converting the building is a smart move that fits the way people live now. New homes mean more people downtown, and he wants professionals working in Blyth.
