North Wales Police HQ in Colwyn Bay is outdated. Force seeks modern, efficient, and sustainable options.

A councilor said police want a modern building. They are looking at different options. A property in St Asaph comes back to police in 2028, its lease will end then.
The police already use buildings at St Asaph Business Park. These include the communications center and custody suites, the training department, and the roads crime unit. They also have a vehicle workshop, offices, and the HQ.
Amanda Blakeman is North Wales Police’s chief constable. She confirmed they are looking at moving, as the current HQ houses about 250 staff.
The chief constable thinks parts of their estate are too old and aren’t good for modern policing. She wants to be more sustainable and efficient, both financially and environmentally.
The force constantly looks at its buildings, with the headquarters forming part of this review. Policing will stay in Colwyn Bay, she confirmed firmly.
