Thompson said the images became routine. It helped him escape during lockdown. He said he felt sorry for what he did.

The judge said Thompson admitted his guilt. She spoke about the victims of abuse. Young children suffer greatly for those images. Their pain is beyond understanding, she said.

Thompson got a suspended sentence. He has to attend a program and rehab. He also must abstain from alcohol. He got a prevention order and other penalties. The court will take the items seized.
