Hey, guess what I was reading about? North Tyneside Council is getting complaints. People have issues with housing and environmental services.

The report covers April to September 2024. Housing had 184 complaints, while environmental services had 73. It seems like a lot of people aren’t happy.

Housing complaints were mostly about repairs and planned investments that also caused issues. They received many calls, around 40,000, and staff completed nearly 24,000 jobs.

Delays and poor communication were big problems. The council wants to know why delays happened and if they could have been prevented.

Complaints also covered grass cutting. Seasonal teams will get new training on equipment use and expected standards related to green space upkeep.

The council will get a tree asset manager starting in April to handle tree work requests. A new tree management policy is coming, too.

They got 73 complaints about green space issues out of 47,000 contacts. These residents contacted them between April and September, and these concerned waste collection too.
