Detectives reviewed the case in 2008. Police divers searched the Tyne River in April that year. A witness saw a man near the river. The man matched Scott’s description. It was early morning, October 11, 2002. They found no trace of his body.

Police told Scott’s family he likely entered the river. The case changed last summer. Officers arrested a 49-year-old man. He was arrested on suspicion of murder. He is currently out on bail.
