Nine Cambridgeshire Aldi stores got upgrades since 2017, part of £600M UK investment. Fresh foods, layouts and energy use improved.

The upgrades focused on fresh and chilled foods. They improved food-to-go options and layouts became simpler. LED lighting saves energy. Cambridge and Peterborough stores were updated, and Wisbech also saw changes.
Aldi will invest £67 million more in 2025 in existing stores. They’ll add new bakery sections, and health and beauty areas will improve.
Stores will also have new CO2 refrigeration. This will significantly reduce carbon emissions, equivalent to heating 6,500 homes less. The carbon impact is significant.
Aldi is putting £650 million into new stores, opening across the UK in 2025. Key locations include Fulham Broadway, Billericay, and Cheadle in Stoke-on-Trent which will also see a new store.
