Tyrone man Peter Quinn severely injured in Moortown fall, Air Ambulance saves the day.

The Air Ambulance quickly arrived. They treated Peter with other ambulance staff. A helicopter took him to a hospital fast. The Royal Victoria Hospital was only nine minutes away.
Peter doesn’t remember much of the experience. Peter recalls only being moved on a stretcher. Doctors found he broke a bone in his back. He stayed in the hospital for a week.
Then, he wore a body cast for three months. Fortunately, he fully recovered from the fall. Peter and his community wanted to give back. They held a Christmas quiz for the Air Ambulance.
Local businesses and people donated raffle prizes. The event raised over £10,545 as a thank you. Peter thanked everyone for their help. He appreciated the support after his fall.
He also thanked those who helped with the fundraising. The money will support the Air Ambulance. Damien McAnespie manages fundraising for the Air Ambulance. Peter’s accident shows how vital the service is.
Quick responses and on-scene care can save lives. The community’s donation makes a big difference. It can fund the service for a whole day.
