A man was arrested for attempted murder after a man and woman were attacked early Sunday morning in Newton Abbot.

The cops got the call around 12:50 am. A woman and a man got hurt; she’s in her 40s, he’s in his 50s. They went to Torbay Hospital, but their injuries are not life-threatening.
The suspect ran away after the attack, but police found him close by. He’s also in his 50s, and they arrested him for attempted murder, twice. He’s still locked up.
Police believe the victims knew the suspect and think this was a one-off situation. Now, they need help from people: Did you see anything or record the incident?
A detective, Nicky Baker, wants to reassure people that it was isolated. She knows people saw what happened and asks witnesses to contact the police. The police especially need videos, including those from phones, cars, or CCTV. Call 101 or contact the police online, and remember to mention crime reference 50250046524.
