A Jesmond Park Academy student was hospitalized after an assault in school toilets. Police are investigating.

Police said two boys assaulted another boy in the school toilets. Another student tried to help the boy, but the two attacking boys assaulted him too.
The helper got hurt badly in the face. An ambulance took him to the hospital where he got treatment and then went home. Police are now checking into what happened.
Police got a call last Thursday around 1:30 PM and learned of a fight at the school. A boy was hurt in the head by two others when the attack occurred in the restroom.
The school’s principal, Steve Campbell, spoke about it. He said the school takes this very seriously, and they called the police right away, adding that the school wants students to feel safe.
Ambulance staff went to the school last Thursday, arriving a bit after 1 PM. One ambulance took a student to a hospital because he needed more medical care.
