A Newcastle man was jailed after burning his mother with hot oil, headbutting her, and assaulting police officers.

His mother asked him to leave, but he refused and verbally abused her after drinking all day. Castor became violent quickly, assaulting her before going to the kitchen. He threw frying bacon at his mom, and the scalding oil burned her face.
A restraining order was in place to protect her as he had assaulted and spat on her the previous year. Castor caused nearly two thousand pounds in damage, smashing possessions in her house. When police arrived, Castor kicked, tried to bite, and headbutted an officer.
Castor appeared in court via video link and was sentenced for assault, criminal damage, breaching a restraining order, and assaulting emergency workers after pleading guilty. The court learned that on January 20, Castor’s mother returned home to find him drunk, starting an argument. He got even more drunk and threatened to “kill” her if she called the police.
She asked him to leave that evening, but he refused and “kicked off,” becoming quite violent and smashing things while shouting constant verbal abuse. He grabbed her and threw her around, calling her a “dirty cow” before throwing bacon and hot oil that burned her face. He was also headbutting her hard.
Castor latched onto his mother, biting her arm and wrist, and pushed her onto the floor before going upstairs to smash things with a hammer. The damage totaled almost two thousand pounds, and his mother had injuries.
When police arrived at the home, he lashed out at them. Officers forced him to the floor, but he kicked and hit them, headbutting one officer in the jaw. Police eventually used pepper spray to subdue him. Castor had prior convictions, including assault and damage against his mom.
His lawyer said he was immature but claimed Castor feels remorse, expresses shame, and wants to change himself, having thought about things while in custody.
The judge stated Castor blighted his mom’s life, going on a “rampage” in her home. The court issued a new three-year restraining order, and Castor was sentenced to seventeen months in jail.
