Sutton Harbour Marina wants a floating vessel. It will have toilets and showers for boat owners. The marina group feels responsible for these facilities and wants boat owners to have them while docked. Currently, a jetty south of Guy’s Quay has these.

The jetty needs repairs because it’s deteriorated and is not accessible right now. The marina needs a temporary solution to keep providing the facilities, so they propose a floating vessel near the jetty with the needed toilets and showers.

This facility will be one story and rectangular, moored to a floating pontoon that runs parallel to Sutton Wharf. The facility is around 16 meters long, 4.9 meters wide, and 3.1 meters high, and it will be moored traditionally.

Inside, expect six changing/shower cubicles, each with a toilet, shower, hairdryer, hooks, benches, and dressing counters with mirrors. This vessel offers only toilets and showers; there is no living space included.

The location aims for easy access for berth holders and uses existing utility connections for efficiency. Maintenance access remains appropriate, and it will also have minimal visual impact. The number of toilets and showers matches the old jetty, offering a seamless service replacement.

The facility is exclusively for berth holders, with secure and authorized access within the gated marina area, providing a secure and private amenity.

Plymouth City Council will review these plans, along with other planning applications under review covering various projects in Plymouth, including Derriford Hospital lighting and work at the Vine Hotel.

Changes at Jean Crescent are up for review, along with several HMO proposals, and surveys near Manadon Roundabout.

A two-bedroom dwelling is proposed, and an application exists for temporary artworks, as well as solar panels at Sainsbury’s Marsh Mills. Outbuilding removal and extensions feature as well, along with CCTV installation at Tinside Pool and a rear dormer.

A community center modification is on the list, as well as a two-story rear extension and alterations to a dwellinghouse. Finally, the floating vessel application and replacement lead valleys complete the list.
