Nottingham will get a new bridge. It will be for walkers and cyclists. The city council agreed to a £12.6m deal. Balfour Beatty will construct the bridge.

The bridge spans 85 meters across the River Trent. It links Trent Basin to the south riverbank. People can easily reach sports and parks.

Expect site work around February or March. Crews will clear land and take down a warehouse. Flo Skatepark previously used it. March will see equipment arrive. April involves screwing supports into the ground.

Bridge construction occurs throughout summer and autumn. Steel sections arrive from Hucknall. November will include a huge crane. Workers will lift the bridge onto its supports.

Winter 2025/26 features ramp and landscaping work. Paving, plants, and lights get installed. The bridge should open by spring 2026.

The bridge will help people travel sustainably. It will offer easier access to local spaces. People can reach Lady Bay and West Bridgford. They can also reach sports facilities.
