Network Rail proposes a new bridge at Tenby station, improving accessibility and blending with the Victorian station’s style.

Right now, platforms lack an easy route. People can’t get between them without steps. A barrow crossing is how people now cross.
The new design will blend old and new. It’ll match the station’s style and also meet modern rules. The bridge must be accessible and useful.
The station now falls short of the law. Tenby station isn’t fully Equality Act compliant. Wheelchair access to platform one is tricky because the station has no staff. Train staff must help people.
The old bridge dates to 1986. They will swap this bridge for one with lifts. Stairs will be at least two meters wide, allowing two wheelchairs to pass easily and one to turn around easily.
The plan offers a matching structure that uses the station’s design ideas. It will fit the surroundings while modern touches promote access and function.
Planners will soon review the proposal. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park will oversee it.
