Bridgwater is getting a new Lidl supermarket after plans were approved for Carnival Way, near junction 24 of the M5.

It’s close to junction 24 of the motorway. The council said okay after a long review. Construction may start this year.
They will also build a safe crosswalk. It will go over Wilstock Way. It will link homes and shops. People can get to the country park easier.
The store will be on Carnival Way’s south side. It is east of the Costa drive-thru. Domino’s and Greggs may also open there. New industrial buildings are north of the site.
You enter from Carnival Way. There will be 105 parking spots. People can walk or bike there using the roads.
Lidl will pay for a signal crosswalk. It will be on Wilstock Way. This helps people from Wilstock and Stockmoor. It will cost about £31,200. The crossing will help locals get to the store.
Kids can walk or bike to school safely. It means they avoid the busy main road. The council will build the crossing. It is part of local road changes. Lidl helped with a path in Wells too.
The council approved the Lidl plans. They expect construction to begin later this year. Council officers, not a committee, made the decision. It seems like a good thing for Bridgwater.
