46 affordable rental homes could replace a pallet warehouse in Cradley Heath, according to plans before Sandwell Council.

Morro Partnerships wants to build 46 new homes for affordable rent. The homes will have one to four bedrooms.
The council has planned homes there since 2012 and it’s listed for about 86 homes. The warehouse is in an industrial area, and a traveller site is nearby.
The area is previously developed land, and the project uses the commercial site efficiently. The plan follows national and local rules, representing a sustainable development approach.
The plan offers 46 socially rented homes, addressing Sandwell Council’s need for more housing. These homes meet housing needs, with one hundred percent being affordable.
A gas station across from the warehouse sold in 2023 and became a car wash and tire shop. An old plan for 139 homes nearby was approved in 2011, but that project never began.
The council will rebuild Haden Hill Leisure Centre, with the refurbishment costing £24 million. The leisure centre is nearly 50 years old. Parts of the center closed in 2023 after the pool roof failed. The full closure happened last year for the upgrade. The new leisure centre should open in 2027.
