New Filling Station With Greggs, Pizza Chain and SPAR Progressing

They’re building a new filling station now. It includes a Greggs, pizza place, and shop. The work happens at Burlam and Acklam Road’s corner. This land was unused since 2017.

The old Roseberry station closed back then. Last year, plans got approved for the new station. The site now has SPAR, Greggs, and Sbarro signs. Sbarro sells New York style pizza.

An EG petrol station looks nearly ready. People are currently working on it. In 2023, they approved a petrol station. It would have a SPAR shop too. The SPAR might have a deli and butcher shop.

Parking, an ATM, and EV chargers are planned. Revised plans came in 2024. James Hall and Co made minor changes. Pictures show progress at the old station site.

The local council approved the revised plans. These plans shifted the entrance and ATM. Electric charging and disabled bays also moved. They removed an electric sub-station. Car parking numbers stayed the same. The store’s size did not increase.

The new station could create 30 jobs. It would include 15 full-time roles and fifteen part-time jobs. A planning officer suggested planting more trees where the sub-station was. We do not know the opening date yet.
