A new crime map came out for Wales. It shows the most dangerous places, with police recording over five million crimes in England and Wales up to last September; fraud was not included.

Wales had 261,000 recorded crimes across four police forces: South Wales, Gwent, Dyfed-Powys, and North Wales. Police have split areas into smaller units to match local environments. Now, new crime rates are public, helping for fair comparisons across areas while accounting for population sizes.

Newport has the highest crime rate in Wales, with 121 crimes per 1,000 people, approximately one crime for every eight people. Blaenau Gwent follows with the second highest rate, registering 118 crimes per 1,000, while Cardiff has 106 crimes per 1,000 residents. Anglesey is currently the safest place in Wales, recording 55 crimes per 1,000 people.
