Another gaming centre may open in Leicester on Narborough Road, replacing a former funeral home.

They want a 24-hour gaming center and bingo would be available, too. Only adults can enter, no kids.
The company tried this before, last year. They got approval for another gaming center nearby, also on Narborough Road. This happened in April 2023.
That gaming spot also runs 24 hours and offers gaming machines with cash prizes. Prizes are capped at £500 and it has limited hours due to noise.
City planners worried about the noise. They thought late-night noise could bother people and upset residents living upstairs.
The council limited the arcade’s opening times. Sunday to Thursday, it’s open 8 AM to midnight, and Friday and Saturday, it’s open 8 AM to 2 AM. Shipley Estates agreed to these rules.
Shipley says this new place will be quiet. They will play only background music and won’t serve alcohol inside, so no drunk people are permitted. They expect older customers and believe it won’t cause noise.
The gaming center is only on the ground floor, but flats exist above the shop. They will improve the building, though and soundproofing will help reduce noise for residents upstairs.
Shipley also stated the plan creates jobs. Vacant property will be in use, and it is an investment in Leicester’s economy.
You can share thoughts with the city council. The last day to comment is March 13th, and they aim to decide by April 14th.
