A new estate with 90 homes is coming to Radcliffe on the former Riverside High School site, years after its demolition.

The old school was from the 1970s, but it was torn down in 2015. Hive Homes and Seddon Housing Partnerships are developing the site now. The building project will cost £15.7 million, and they expect to finish in July 2027.
Hive Homes will sell 68 houses and make 22 houses affordable. Hive Homes must also pay Bury Council around £250,000 for local improvements that will include several local facilities.
Cams Lane Athletics Track will get upgrades, as will Close Park and Outwood football. Radcliffe Cemetery and a park will also benefit from these improvements.
Seddon stated they are proud to work on the site because locals have good memories of the school. They hope people will make new memories there, and said Hive Homes puts the community first.
All new houses will have solar panels. This should make the homes energy efficient and living there economical for residents.
