Mountain rescue teams gathered for training. The training took place in the Cleveland area, and some teams traveled from as far as Wales. Unfortunately, visitors were victims of theft overnight.

A range of mountain rescue gear was stolen; some items have team markings, making them easy to identify. Cleveland MRT is asking for the public’s eyes.

If you spot any items, tell Cleveland Police. Report found or for-sale items to the police, as the theft was reported to them earlier and their contact information is available.

The stolen gear impacts rescue work, as teams need this gear for searches. Replacing it costs time and money, and volunteers often buy their own equipment. Any information is appreciated.

Here’s a list of the stolen gear: A red/black Deuteur rucksack, a white Kask helmet with a logo, and a red Fitzroy belay jacket with a Mountain Rescue panel.

Also stolen was a Petzl climbing harness, a Petzl orange dual connect, and a 15m orange/white kern rope. Plus, miscellaneous red karabiners were taken.

A pair of black and tan winter gloves is gone. A small first aid kit was also stolen; it’s in a red waterproof bag and includes a stethoscope.

Missing too are a Fenix head torch marked o2a, an orange Summit Casualty Shelter, a black diamond head torch, and a small orange stuff sack.

A black and orange North Face patrol bag was stolen. Additionally, a DMM ice axe, a Mammut avalanche probe, and a Black Diamond snow shovel were stolen.

Montane winter gloves in brown are missing, along with Dachstien mitts and black mitts. Black diamond gatters are absent, and a transceiver BCA2 orange disappeared as well.

A red buff was also stolen from the scene. Finally, a Dyno printer is gone. Contact the police if you see any of these items; your help truly matters!
