Major traffic disruption after police find body. Investigation is ongoing affecting M4 M48 and M5 routes.
The incident happened on February 22, 2025, near the Prince of Wales Bridge. The Severn Bridge is also close by. Both bridges are affected, and commuters should expect delays.
Closures include parts of the M4, with Junction 20 at Almondsbury affected. The M48 is also shut down between the M4 and Junction 1. The M5 connections are also closed. Junction 15 south to M4 Junction 20 is blocked, as is Junction 16 north to M4 Junction 20. Avon and Somerset Police are in charge.
Police received calls at 6:40 PM reporting something on the road. Officers arrived and found human remains. They are working to identify the person and notify their family, investigating how they got there. The road will likely be closed until Sunday.
