Fans fell ill at a Motorsport With Attitude event due to carbon monoxide. Organiser admits to safety failures.

The event was called Motorsport With Attitude. Last February, the main area had to be evacuated. Firefighters and police showed up because of the danger. They found very high levels of the poisonous gas.
The company, Motorsport with Attitude Limited, admitted guilt. They broke health and safety rules. The council took them to court over it.
The director, David Rennie, confessed. He said they didn’t have a good risk assessment. He admitted they lacked proper systems to handle the carbon monoxide. They failed to maintain a safe working area. Also, they didn’t have a written safety policy. They didn’t assess risks to people attending the event.
The sentencing is coming in April in Cannock. A councillor said safety is a top priority. He expects event organizers to run safe events. He’s glad the company admitted their safety failures.
The event took place on February 3, 2024. People complained online and wanted refunds. One person said the ventilation was poor inside, and they also noted the fumes were overwhelming. They traveled far and felt disappointed.
