The police arrested Reece Murray and Alfi Lleshi on September 7 last year. This followed their actions near Stamford after a police officer saw three speeding motorcycles.
He signaled them to stop, but two bikes did not; they sped up and performed wheelies. They then entered the Burghley House event.
The pair nearly hit people and slightly injured a dog. Security stopped them quickly, and the police officer then arrested them.
Both men went to court on Tuesday, February 25. The court then banned them from driving and ordered unpaid work.
Murray, 27, received an eight-month suspended prison sentence, suspended for a year, for failing to stop for police and dangerous driving. Murray also drove without insurance and MOT and caused criminal damage. He must do 200 hours of unpaid work and complete a 15-day rehab program, with a year-long driving ban also applied.
Lleshi, 20, got the same sentence after admitting failing to stop for police and dangerous driving. His registration plate was also obscured.
A police officer named Joe Woolf stated that the event draws many visitors yearly. “Their behavior was truly despicable. They rode into a pedestrian area with disregard for their own, and others’, safety. A dog got hurt, and people jumped out of their way for safety.”
