A mother, Farishta Jami, was convicted for planning a one-way trip to Afghanistan with her children to join ISIS.

The court learned about Jami’s social media activity. She shared extremist things between 2022 and 2024. Videos, documents, and images were included. Jami ran pro-Daesh groups. Over 700 people were in these groups. She shared videos showing loyalty to ISKP.
Jami was convicted of terrorism charges under the Terrorism Act of 2006. She planned to travel to Afghanistan seeking martyrdom. A second charge involved taking her children.
Jami lived in Stratford. She searched for flights to Afghanistan 22 times in two weeks, looking for one-way tickets for herself and her kids. Officers searched her home, finding SIM cards, cash, and devices. She hid passports too. She researched flights to join ISKP.
Jami also researched weapons, gathering AK47 rifle information, including assembly instructions. Police stated she wanted to travel in July 2023. By November, she had saved money, showing her travel intention. Jami’s sentencing is scheduled for Friday, February 14.
Police commented, stating Jami’s actions were dangerous, as she planned to travel in 2023.
