Friends and family braved the cold for a memorial match honoring Adrian Blackmore. He was a beloved Middlesbrough dad.

Adrian died in 2003 after suffering a heart attack while playing football. He was just 54 years old. Adrian was from Park End and left behind his family.
Family and friends affectionately called him Adie. The memorial game took place at Herlingshaw Centre, located on Normanby Road in Middlesbrough. The teams consisted of friends, family, and members of the MFC Foundation.
His nephew, Tim Shuttle, spoke about the event, describing it as a cold and emotional night. Over 50 people participated in the match.
Tim captained the Blackmore Blues, while Mark Harton led the Blackmore Reds. The Blues ultimately won the game with a score of 10-9, making it a thrilling match to watch.
Craig McConnell scored an impressive four goals, earning him the title of player of the match. Liam Watson from MFC Foundation provided significant assistance with the pitch and kits.
Tim expressed his gratitude to everyone who played and cheered. He announced that they are already planning next year’s event, with the hope of making it bigger and even better in 2026.
Adrian was a passionate supporter of Middlesbrough Football Club. He worked extensively with the MFC Foundation. Plus, he enjoyed music, karaoke, and Queen.
Most importantly, Adrian was a great friend. People say he was “a friend to everyone.” This is how he will be remembered.
