Later, the train started moving again after the ambulance handled the situation. However, trains had delays of around 15 minutes, affecting travel between Pelaw and South Hylton.

The ambulance service shared that they got a call about someone sick on a train at St Peter’s Metro station. They sent an ambulance and took a man to the hospital in Sunderland for further care.
