Oopsy Daisies at Merry Hill will close soon. It is a gift shop and tearoom; the last day is Monday, February 24. The owners said it was a hard decision. They had to close after eleven years.

Several things caused the closure. The unit needs major repairs, and circumstances outside their control also played a part. Beth Robins opened it in 2013 as a kiosk. A few years later, the shop and tearoom opened.

Beth announced the closure on Facebook and explained that the last two years were very hard. They fought to survive the economy. Rising costs and health problems hurt them, so they lacked resources to move elsewhere.

Afternoon tea vouchers can become general vouchers to use in the tearoom or gift shop. A charity will get furniture and appliances and plans to open a coffee shop. Some items will be for sale in the store.

Handmade orders will still happen from home, and customers can collect existing orders before they close. The owners thanked customers for support and said that they will really miss their customers. The Merry Hill team also received thanks.

Many customers responded with sadness online. One said it was a fabulous little shop, and another called it a calm haven. One customer’s daughter had a birthday party there and said the shop will be missed.
