Edinburgh park damaged by quad bikes. Locals report repeat incidents and reckless behavior. Police are investigating.

The clip shows donut marks stretching for many meters around. Apparently, the people drove toward others, causing serious damage to the Meadows. One person said this has happened four times now and believes something must change soon.
Police Scotland knows about the situation. A local saw it while walking kids to school, noting that masked people on bikes and ATVs caused damage. They drove toward people on the grass.
This person said it’s happened repeatedly and believes someone could get hurt badly. His wife also witnessed more incidents this past Thursday. Police confirmed the situation occurred February 20 around 6:55 AM after receiving a report of vehicles damaging grass in The Meadows area in Edinburgh.
Police say they are investigating and urge anyone with information to call 101, referencing number 0532 of 20 February, 2025. Someone also spotted similar quad bike riders elsewhere at Saughton Park on the same morning. A lady confronted those riders.
Sue Hildersley, on her way to see her horse, witnessed people doing donuts on playing fields, which local youth football teams also utilize. She filmed the incident and approached them. The riders circled her when she approached and sprayed mud in her direction.
Upset about the damage to the beloved park, Sue, who frequently walks through the park to her horse, initially thought someone was cutting grass. Then, she saw the quad bikes doing donuts. Despite filming them, they did not stop, and she believes they wrecked a lovely park for no reason, leaving her feeling pretty angry.
During the filming, the riders circled her closely, and another person who tried to challenge them was also circled dangerously. She feared they’d hit her if they miscalculated. The riders looked like older teens, and although Sue loves the park, they messed it up constantly, making her feel furious.
Police received a report concerning vehicles at Saughton Park around 8:50 AM on February 20, 2025. Officers went there, but the vehicles were already gone.
