Mayor’s wife kidnapped by cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación, demanding the mayor replace his security chief.

The mayor’s wife is Brenda Marisol Montañez Saucedo. She was leaving a gated community in Aguascalientes city. This kidnapping was not random, it seems, as it involved a conflict between the mayor and the cartel.
The council started probing the cartel on February 4. The cartel responded with threats written on banners, targeting Oscar Maydon, a famous artist, who then had to cancel a show.
The cartel wasn’t happy with the investigation. The mayor’s son, Sebastian Cruz, met with them in Tepatitlán city. However, they abducted him during this meeting.
Mayor Villalpando then met “El Charro,” a cartel leader and a suspect in the murder of Ricardo Rodríguez Zamora, a businessman.
The cartel abducted Mayor Villalpando and two council workers. They wanted him to “fix the issue” and agreed to release all if he hired their guy. He supposedly agreed to replace his security chief.
However, he didn’t keep his promise after release. The cartel then kidnapped his wife the next week, and Brenda is still not released as of yesterday.
