Newcastle man John Hall faces jail after stalking his ex mistress after she ended their affair in January 2024.

Hall had two relationships at once. He saw both his wife and his mistress since 2021. The woman ended it in January 2024. He didn’t handle the breakup well, and he was found guilty of stalking her last September.
Despite that, Hall contacted her again. He sent tons of calls and texts. Hall appeared in court on Thursday and admitted to stalking without violence.
The prosecutor explained the affair started in 2021. At first, things were good, but then, she learned he was married.
He promised to leave his wife, and she moved in with him. Afterwards, he went back to his wife. This cycle continued for a while until the woman ended the relationship in January 2024. She told him to stop contacting her and also got a protection order.
Hall works at Greggs. Despite the order, he kept contacting her. He was convicted of stalking last September, receiving a community order, and a restraining order was also issued.
The restraining order changed earlier this year, only stopping him from going to her house. The prosecutor stated more issues happened. On February 23, she had 41 missed calls from unknown numbers or FaceTime, and some numbers she saved belonged to Hall.
Hall called her 13 more times the next day. He also sent messages and a photo. His lawyer said they had a relationship after the first conviction.
She also stated the woman asked to change the order in January. The original order banned all contact but changed to only banning him from her house. Hall knew he should have stopped after she blocked him because before that, communications seemed mutual.
The court warned Hall he could face jail. They postponed the case to prepare a report. He was released on bail and will return to court on April 14.
